Freddie Southwell of “Wild Seasoning” was employed to supply the catering for our daughter’s wedding at the end of August 2013. This involved canapés for the Tea reception and also a three course dinner in the evening.
From the moment we first met him he instilled confidence and calm in us and nothing was too much trouble for him despite our endless phone calls and meetings to address all the finer details of the catering requirements.
He visited our house and supplied a tasting menu from which we decided on the final choice for both the Tea canapés and the three course evening meal. He responded promptly and effectively to all and any concerns that we may have had along the way and always made us feel as if he really was giving our requirements his full attention.
The food on the day was superb as was the staffing, made special by the general helpfulness and friendliness of all those involved. As such, we would highly recommend his services for any event that he may be asked to supply the catering for.

Freddie was recommended to me when I was seeking quality catering services for a physiotherapy training course I was organising.

Freddie initially provided me with a range of options to suit budget & environmental considerations, yet it was hard to pick the best as each menu sounded delicious!

Freddie was professional & timely throughout the planning process & throughout the weekend managed a tight ship, that was flexible enough to allow for overruns from the course presenters. Not many caterers could have managed to serve a delicious spread between a remote kitchen/dining location, separated by a busy national sports training venue with an event in full flow.

Feedback from the delegates was without exception excellent, which included several special dietary requirements. A consummate culinary professional.

We booked Freddie for our wedding catering this summer and were delighted with our canapes and wedding breakfast. Our reception was at Anna’s parents home in a marquee in the garden. James has already tasted his excellent cooking when he hired him to do some private catering for a stag do a year beforehand.
Freddie was prompt in preparing menu suggestions for our day and came to our London home to do a tasting evening 6 months before the wedding with our parents.
We are big foodies so an important part of our day was having a celebratory menu and Freddie delivered just that!
His front of house -Ali, was also brilliant meaning all our guests were topped up with bubbles and wine all evening and everyone got plenty of canapes.
I would highly recommend Freddie for any occassion. His food really is superb and his approach very professional.

How do we even start to thank you for the incredible job you and your team at Wild Seasoning did for our wedding?! The canapés and the wedding breakfast were just as we’d pictured they’d be in our wildest dreams, so to see those dreams manifested by you into reality was truly amazing. You spent lots of time with us planning our menu and helping us to create something that was really right for us. And given the number of compliments we’ve had on the food from so many of our guests, I know we aren’t being biased in our opinions!

With all the manic activity of getting ready for our big day, it was such a comfort to know the catering was one thing we didn’t have to worry about. You filled us with confidence from the very beginning that our food and drink was in safe hands and you most definitely backed that up with the end product!

From our first meeting with Freddie, we were impressed with his ideas and flexibility to cater for our specific needs. As lovers of food we had high standards for what we wanted and these were exceeded by Freddie and his team. He worked with us on choosing our canapés, which were exceptional and unique and a highlight for the wedding guests.
As the bride is vegetarian we insisted on having an option that was as much a show stopper as the meat option and Freddie delivered on this exceptionally.
From start to finish Freddie and Ali were professional, supportive and discreet which meant the catering side of the day was everything we hoped it would be.

Freddie is a wonderful and creative chef who delivers top class food to suit any occasion, with a style that is both personable and professional. We have hired Freddie twice to produce a spectacular “picnic” at an outdoor event, and both times he has delivered food worthy of a top class restaurant, beautifully and thoughtfully presented (both the food and the table), with perfectly-judged, friendly service. To deliver this at home would be impressive, but in a field 50 miles from home it is heroic! We have no hesitation in recommending Freddie and look forward to using his services again in the near future.

After a long and tiring day in the melee of the merchandise pavilion walking into our humble abode to smell nothing less than an aroma to tantalise even the most delicate of taste buds was most welcoming. From the simplest to the sophisticated Freddie produced on all accounts and the standard of cooking was excellent throughout. Freddie’s skill not only demonstrated itself on the stove but also as a wine connoisseur when he had kindly tasted a number of bottles of Chateau-neuf du Pape to ensure they were up to scratch to serve with his feast.

We had the enormous benefit of having Freddie look after our catering needs from a Tuesday evening until the Friday morning providing Dinner and Breakfast for two successive parties of c 18 at a Yurt Camp on the N Devon Coast. Freddie provided us with a delicious Mexican themed dinner and a traditional English Dinner together with Full English Breakfasts. Freddie could not have been more efficient and effective but at the same time very unintrusive and steadily clearing up in the background. The meals were enjoyed by all and contributed enormously to the success of our holiday. Throughout Freddie has a “can do” approach and takes everything in his stride.
